The Team Welcome Ceremony (Flag Raising Ceremony) for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Vietnam 3rd Asian Indoor Games (3rd AIG) was successfully held this morning (30 October 2009) at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi. Representatives from the Vietnam Asian Indoor Games Organizing Committee, Mr. Karl KWOK, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation, the Delegation members and representatives from HKSAR Government made their presence in the Ceremony.

The 3rd AIG was then announced officially curtained up in the Opening Ceremony, which was also held at My Dinh National Stadium in the evening. Led by Swimming athlete, Ms. TSAI Hiu Wai, Sherry as the Flag Bearer, and Mr. Karl KWOK, Chef de Mission, and the other officials of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Games marched into the Stadium

The Hong Kong, China Delegation would participate in the 3rd AIG that would be held from 30 October to 8 November 2009 in Hanoi & Hochiminh City, Vietnam. The 77 Hong Kong athletes would participate in 11 sports out of 20 official sports and one demonstration sports including:- Aquatics (25m Short Course Swimming), Indoor Archery, Indoor Athletics, Billiard Sports, Bowling, Chess (Xiangqi), DanceSports, Dragon & Lion Dance, Martial Arts (Muay), Shuttlecock and Women Deference (Sanshou & Dulian) in the captioned Games.

The delegation ranked 3rd in the medal tally in the last AIG held in Macau in 2007.  Lastly, the Federation wishes the Hong Kong, China Delegation a great success in the 3rd AIG
